Throughout the property, Jaya House features these black and white paintings of Cambodian people. They are beautiful, and each one is unique - every guest room has a different one, and several are located in the lobby. These pieces were commissioned by the hotel through a local art school that teaches orphans and children whose families cannot afford private education.
The silver egg is filled with cold, filtered water, part of the hotel’s “Refill Not Landfill” initiative. Each guest is provided with a new, stainless steel water bottle at check-in, and several refill stations are located throughout the hotel. Additionally, Jaya House has partnered with other businesses and hotels in Siem Reap to expand this program throughout the community, in an effort to reduce plastic waste in Siem Reap. The hotel is not entirely plastic free, but strives to be as close to plastic free as possible.
