Jaipur
Jaipur was our next to last stop in India. The capital of the state of Rajasthan, Jaipur is known as the Pink City, because of the colorful pink buildings that line the streets of its historic core. The city is famous for the Amer Fort (Amber Fort), which we reached by riding elephants, and its City Palace, where members of the Rajasthan royal family still reside. Jaipur is also home to the Jantar Mantar, an 18th century astrological observation site built by the Rajput king Sawai Jai Singh in 1738.
